Visiting City Hall

What can you visit at City Hall?

Parts of City Hall are open to the public on Mondays to Thursdays, 8.30am to 6pm, and on Fridays, 8.30am to 5.30pm.

You can enjoy free W-Fi access throughout the building by logging in to City Hall Wi-Fi and using 'GLA Guest'.

Entrance and reception

When you arrive at City Hall you will come through the entrance doors and be faced with our reception desk. Our staff are available to point you in the right direction if needed.

Please note: in the interest of everyone’s safety and security, everyone visiting City Hall must pass through security at the entrance to the building. This includes going through a metal detector and having all bags scanned.

Ramp down to lower ground floor

Once in, you can walk down the ramp to the lower ground floor. In the middle of the circle is our map area, where we often hold exhibitions and events.

You can also use the public lifts to get down to the lower ground floor.

Ramp to first and second floors

You can take the ramp and walk round the outside of our building, via the viewing gallery on the first floor, up to the second floor. You can also use the public lifts.

City Hall ramps

The chamber

From our second floor you can see into the Chamber, where debates and Assembly meetings take place. If there is a public meeting taking place you are welcome to attend the meeting in the seating gallery. If no meeting is taking place you cannot enter the Chamber.

London's Living Room

London's Living Room, on our 9th floor, is only open to the public one weekend a year through the Open House London festival. It is closed to the public at all other times.
